You’ve likely heard the words “Beloved Community” before. At the end of worship, Rev. Juniper often evokes this idea in her benediction “Let us rock, roll, and move towards that Beloved Community on the horizon.”

Our congregation is beginning to reenter a period of study in anticipation of the 8th principle which also echoes this language. This Sunday, let’s explore the nature of the Beloved Community, what it is, how we may play a hand in building it together, and how our endeavors to create the conditions in which such a community might arise may make 2nd Unitarian Church of Omaha a place where everyone can genuinely belong.
