The Ones We’ve Been Waiting For

In response to national tragedy, the late luminary of neighborly love Rev. Fred Rogers would implore people, quoting his own mother, to “look to the helpers, there are always people helping.”

And it’s true. There are always people helping. These folks can be a tremendous source of hope and inspiration as they help tend to a broken world. But what of us? Many of us, young and old, are already being helpers in our own way. Even as we look to the helpers, could it be that we are the ones we have been waiting for?

This Sunday, let us explore the art of helping in big, but especially ordinary and everyday ways. We’ll talk about care, how we give it, and explore some grounded tools that may help us be better stewards of friendship and kindness in the midst of crisis.
