A Heritage of Learning : Book Communion (Video)

This week marks Banned Books Week, a time when we are called to consider the legacy of book banning throughout history and to take some time with these forbidden texts. We Unitarian Universalists have long been an academic folk; people who appreciate the learning for its own sake. This Sunday, let us live into that heritage of learning and explore the effects of book bans in the past and the present, considering what prayerful, righteous actions we might take to prove that the pen is mightier than the sword.

For our Altar Building this week, all are invited to bring a book to donate to our library/Little Free Library. Alternatively, all are encouraged to take some time after worship visiting either our congregation’s library or a public library of your choice. Come celebrate learning and reading with us!
