Common Read Book Discussion

Every year the Unitarian Universalist Association chooses a book for discussion in our congregations. This year’s choice is Breathe – A Letter to My Sons, by Imani Perry. According to the UUA, “Breathe offers a broader meditation on race, gender, and the meaning of a life well lived and is also an unforgettable lesson in Black resistance and resilience.”

The UUA expects a discussion guide for Breathe to be available by the end of January.

If you are interested in reading and discussing this book during the month of February, please contact Anita Jeck at aajeck1@yahoo.com. Dates and times have yet to be determined. It is expected that there will be 2-3 weekly zoom discussion held in February. It may be possible to offer both a daytime and an evening group if enough people are interested. Please indicate your schedule preference or constraints. The cost of the hardcover book will be approximately $18. Scholarships are available. E-book and audiobook versions are also available at BookShop.org.
