One half of the offering received during July will go to the reEnergize Program to help low income homeowners make energy savings upgrades to their homes. Funded by a U.S. Department of Energy grant, the reEnergize Program is a collaboration between Omaha and Lincoln to build energy smart communities. Participants in the program receive $3,000 of energy saving upgrades. Low income homeowners may qualify for a $100 grant to cover the initial energy evaluation; Second Unitarian is a sponsor for these grants. The reEnergize Program also works with commercial and non-profit buildings. To nominate an organization for our Share the Plate program, visit the church website or contact the Social Justice Coordinating Council or Rev. Scott.
