A Rose in the Wintertime

Much has been made about the perilous condition of our time. No doubt much more will be made still. Through this past month we have spoken of gratitude as the grounds for the hope that would bear us through such an age and empower us to meet life’s challenges and realize Love’s demands. But what is to be done when our candle goes out? From where do we conjure hope when it feels like a luxury? Where do we turn when hope is hard to find?

This Sunday, let us enter into our December theme of Hope; turning inward to seek the courage that would allow us to turn outward to meet our neighbor, to share our fire and to be shared with in turn.
