The past year saw little dampening in the fires of modern wars, and this year has begun with the surprise abduction of the sitting president of Venezuela by United States forces. When will our leaders learn the only lesson that war ever teaches? That no one wins. That militarism only leads to more militarism.

This Sunday, as we begin our exploration into our value of Justice, let us consider the injustices of militarism as we cultivate and hold close to heart a vision of a world where the ashes of war are little more than dust on history.
