May 25th marks the birthday of Ralph Waldo Emerson, public speaker, Unitarian minister, and often considered the father of Transcendentalism; that quintessentially American philosophical movement that saw divinity reflected in nature, believing that direct personal insight into truth was more reliable than institutional authority or received doctrine.

This Sunday, let us reconnect with these roots; reflecting on the legacy of Transcendentalism and the indelible mark his movement made upon our tradition.
