The Power of Pluralism

The Power of Pluralism: Community Organizing and Spiritual Practice

For many, if not most Unitarian Universalists, social justice is held as a profound expression of spirituality; an inheritance of change making lovingly carried to this day. For all our passion for the cause, how much do we know about the motions of movements?

This Sunday, let us explore our congregation’s relationship with Omaha Together One Community (OTOC), a broad based organization bringing together diverse religious communities in Omaha to build power and leverage our collective energy to righteous ends. Rev. Juniper will share what she has learned from her recent training with the Industrial Areas Foundation, OTOC’s sponsoring organization. We will further explore ideas of power, politics, and a prayerful approach to organizing our communities towards a common good.
