Bucking the Patriarchy

Rev. Dr. Florence Buck advocated for education as the answer for all issues within both larger society and within Unitarian faith, showing compassion for those neglected by society, progressing in her field despite gender bias, as one of the first women ministers. She loved people and was a leading speaker in the Suffrage movement while also embracing a love for all races, cultures and genders. She was a scientist at heart and provided grounding in scientific education along with biblical studies using multi-media learning tools. She, along with many of our other Unitarian and Universalist women ministers partnered with Rev. Jenkin Lloyd Jones to try to advocate for that love of humanity. Learn more about how issues she faced are alive in our call to put love into action today.
