Many of you may have heard diverse perspectives about the recent escalation of violence in Palestine’s Gaza Strip. However, you may have felt uncertain or ill-equipped to understand the historical context and engage in rational discussion about this topic. Since 1948, the people of Palestine have experienced countless forms of oppression, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing.
As Unitarian Universalists, our commitment to standing with love, justice, and peace calls for us to stand with those who are most marginalized and oppressed. Please join us for First Hour on Sunday, June 9th from 9 to 10 a.m. for a viewing of the short documentary “How Israel Was Created”, followed by a rich discussion of the themes of this documentary. You may attend either in person or via Zoom. This is an opportunity to further your knowledge of the plight of the Palestinian people, and to engage in our mission to be transformative in our lives, our faith, and our world.
