Learn why we need to say NO to Voter ID on Sunday October 23rd’s First Hour

Our 5th Principle states that we affirm: “The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large.”

Any measure that puts up hurdles or restricts any citizen’s right to participate in the democratic process violates this principle. Initiative 432, on the ballot for Nebraskans this November, would amend the state constitution to require a “valid ID” at all Nebraska elections.

Sunday, October 23rd at First Hour, at 9 a.m., Chueqa Yang, Voting Rights Field Organizer at Civic Nebraska, will explain why Initiative 432 on November’s  ballot is voter suppression and we should vote no.  This requirement would detrimentally affect more than 54,000 Nebraskans who are registered voters. Join us for this important discussion about this measure and how it violates our 5th Principle. This will be a hybrid event: Cheuqa will join us by zoom, but members can join from home or at the church.
