Attend the Voters Rights conference September 21st

Second Unitarian has been working with a coalition of groups opposed to the voter ID requirement that will now likely be on Nebraska’s November ballot. We see voter ID requirements as voter suppression and the coalition needs your help!

Pam Miller-Jenkins is looking for a few more people to join her at the press conference in Lincoln on Wednesday, September 21st at 11 a.m. at the Foundry (215 N. 14th Street) as a show of support to the coalition’s efforts. Please contact Pam if you would like to take a road trip to support voter rights.

The Social Justice Committee sees this as an opportunity for Second Unitarian to become a “Good Trouble” congregation by coming together as community in support of voting rights. Becoming a “Good Trouble” congregation is part of the UUA’s UU the Vote program and you can learn more about it here. You can learn more about the coalition’s opposition to Voter ID at nohindrance.org. Stay posted for more news.
