Prevent Voter Suppression in Nebraska

PREVENT VOTER SUPPRESSION IN NEBRASKA
LEARN ABOUT CURRENT VOTER ID LEGISLATION IN UNICAMERAL
Thursday, February 18th, 7 pm via Zoom
(Register below)
Like in multiple states, legislation has been introduced in Nebraska to require voter ID and to make it not just a law but incorporate it into the state constitution. Even though no one has ever been convicted of voter fraud in Nebraska, Senator Julie Slama has introduced LR3CA, a proposed constitutional amendment that would enshrine voter suppression into our state Constitution.
The Social Justice committee has invited John Cartier, Director of Voting Rights, at Civic Nebraska to do a presentation on the myths of voter fraud and voting facts. He will also talk with us about what we can do protect Black, Brown, rural, elderly, and low-income voters from losing their right to vote in Nebraska.
Congregations and organizations outside of Second Unitarian will be invited to participate so we are asking all interested persons to register https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAvdu6trzsiHdVzm5NC9wSdpk6GNA2wXd07 and then you will be sent a personal link to the presentation.
