Little Free Pantry Update

Fall is here and I don’t know about you but I am feeling uneasy about the winter that 2020 might bring. Since converting the Little Free Library to a Little Free Pantry we have been able to serve the surrounding community by providing non-perishable food and personal items to help stretch the budget and supplies of those who may need it. With so many folks still under-employed due to COVID I think it’s vitally important to keep providing that service; but it’s going to look a bit different. Colder temps can be damaging to cans and jars so over the next few weeks I’ll be working on transitioning to winter items. If you have supplies to share please bring them by the church.

Here is a list of items I hope to stock our pantry with:

  • Paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex)
  • Personal Care Items (shampoo/conditioner, soap, toothpaste/toothbrushes, moisturizer, pads/tampons, deodorant, chapstick, hats, scarves, gloves, handwarmers, masks, etc…)
  • Non-Perishable Foods (peanut butter/jelly in plastic containers, boxed/bagged grains, beans, rice, couscous, dry pasta, pasta sauce in plastic, cereal, oatmeal, snack crackers, tuna pouches, dried fruit, granola bars)

Remember that foods that don’t require cooking are essential to those who may find themselves without power. I have been impressed with the thoughtful donations that I see in that box each week and I know that our church will continue to show up for those in need through the upcoming cold months.

In joyful community,

Ashleigh Fuson, DRE
