Music is an integral part of life as we celebrate, when we grieve, when we worship, as we march together for a cause. But were you aware of the power of music in medicine? Music Therapy is a clinical and evidence based therapy similar to occupational and physical therapy. And there are good results for patients recovering from strokes, injury, or disease.
The Caring Committee is sponsoring a workshop at church Wednesday evening, January 29, at 7 p.m. on “The Power of Music.” Emily Wadhams, a music therapist, will be our presenter.
Please plan to attend. It’s fascinating to learn what Music Therapy has done for patients and their families dealing with Alzheimer’s, dementia, neurological disorders, and recovering stroke victims.
