Thur. Sep. 4 at 6:00 p.m. –Omaha Land Bank and Housing Policy
Meet with Habitat for Humanity Director Amanda Brewer and OTOC leaders to learn how the Omaha Land Bank could revitalize abandoned properties.
Wed. Sep. 10 at 6:30 p.m.–Minimum Wage, Medicaid Coverage and Taxes
Join Sen. Jeremy Nordquist and OTOC leaders to learn about economic issues facing Nebraska including: vote on the minimum wage; expanding coverage of Medicaid and tax policy.
Thur. Sep. 18 at 7:00 p.m. – Policies affecting Children Fleeing to our Border
Learn from Lutheran Family Services Attorney Elizabeth Bowman about legal and practical issues faced by unaccompanied minors who are fleeing to the US border. Come to discuss this issue which Congress must resolve.
Tues. Sep. 23 at 7:00 p.m. – How families can access mental health help.
Meet with leaders of OTOC Mental Health Action Team and Dr. Jai Sookram from Community Alliance to discuss how Nebraskans deal with mental health issues facing their families
Thur. Sep. 25 at 7:00 p.m. – OPPD’s 20 Year Plan
With leaders from the OTOC Environmental Action Team, learn about how OTOC worked with other organizations to encourage OPPD to use more renewable energy sources. Learn about OPPD’s 20 year plan for generating electricity. Learn what you can do to influence future decisions.
