Every month, Second Unitarian shares 1/2 of our offering with a local non-profit. Our share the Plate for September and October is the Omaha Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). According to the national federation of the blind, “You can live the life you want; blindness is not what defines you.”

For September and October half of our pledge will go to the efforts of the NFB, to achieve equality, opportunity, and security for the blind; to support the policies and programs of the Federation; and to abide by its constitution. Our Omaha chapter works alongside surrounding areas on programs like the Nebraska association of blind students, the senior division, the parent group, and developing a guide dog users’ forum.
