Every month Second Unitarian donates half of our offering to a local non-profit. Our partner for November and December is the Siena Francis House.
Founded in 1975, Siena Francis House (SFH) is Nebraska’s largest provider of services to individuals experiencing homelessness and is located in six facilities at 17th & Nicholas Streets in downtown Omaha. While SFH provides emergency shelter, food and clothing to individuals experiencing homelessness, its ultimate goal is to end homelessness by helping each and every guest achieve housing out in the community. As part of this effort, SFH also provides Permanent Supportive Housing for formerly homeless, disabled persons on its campus.
Please give generously to 2U’s Share the Plate offering to support the Siena Francis House and our church. Mail checks to 2U at 3012 S. 119th Street, 68144. Put “Share the Plate” in the memo line. OR try our online giving by clicking here.
Next Sunday, Nov. 1, a representative from Siena-Francis House will make a brief presentation about the great work they are doing for our community.
Instead of a First Hour presentation on Sunday, Nov. 8th, we have arranged for a guided tour of the SFH Campus on Wednesday, Nov. 18th at 2:00 PM. The tour will include The Cottages at SFH, an innovative housing arrangement. If you would like to carpool, please meet at the Church parking lot for a 1:30 PM departure.
