The Heartland PRIDE parade and festival is July 13th, and Second Unitarian is sharing in the fun! Here’s some things to know:
Show your unity and join us by walking in the parade.
2U Staging Site: Our staging site is at California St. between 15th and 16th Streets (near the PortaPotty). Plan to arrive around 9:30 a.m. Parade starts at 10 a.m. (Vehicle traffic will be blocked from the entire parade route, staging area and dispersal area starting at 8 a.m.)
Getting there:
- ORBT:We will leave from the Westroads ORBT Transit Center at 8:48 a.m. (1099 N 102nd St. at northwest corner of mall parking lot.) Prepurchase your tickets via the Umo phone app or buy them at the Westroads ORBT kiosks. (Roundtrip will require two 1-Ride Umo Paper Tokens – $1.25 each way. If using cash, try to have exact change, as kiosk only provides change as a credit to purchase future rides). If you need assistance purchasing your ORBT tickets, be there by 8:30. We will ride ORBT to 16th & Douglas.
- Self-Drive:Parking is available at the CHI Center – Lot D, entered from Abbott Drive. (10th St. will be blocked off.) $10 parking fee.
What to bring: Bring sunscreen, water/water bottle and sunglasses. We will have 2U branded handouts. Accessories (crazy hats, rainbow umbrellas, boas, etc.) add to the festive atmosphere.
