On Tuesday, December 11th, TUUsday Circle will begin at 11 a.m. for lunch at Big Mama’s Kitchen and will be followed by a tour at 1 p.m. of Highland Neighborhood Development.
Big Mama’s Kitchen is located at 3223 North 45th Street—where they have been for the past several years. There is limited parking in a parking lot on 45th Street and street parking when the lot is full.
Alexis Bromley of 75 North Revitalization will be our tour guide for the Highland Neighborhood Development tour. We will reconvene after lunch at The Accelerator Building, 2112 North 30th Street, in the Hardy Coffee Co. on first floor of the building. (Free parking is available on the north side of The Accelerator). This informative tour will take about an hour.
Seventy Five North works to convene community members, educational partners, and the philanthropic community to lead the transformation of the Highlander neighborhood. (The Highlander Neighborhood is bounded generally by Highway 75, Prospect Hill Cemetery, and Burdette and Parker Streets.)
We’ll be visiting a variety of businesses and organizations in the neighborhood and going in and out of buildings. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
Please RSVP to Carol Johnson so that Big Mama’s and Alexis can accommodate our group. If you would like to car pool from the church parking lot, please indicate your wish and if you are willing to take a passenger, please let us know.
