UNO Workshop: Taking Action against White Supremacy and Serving as an Anti-Racist Ally

Thursday, February 23rd 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the UNO Campus Criss Library, Room 249.

Join Dr. Tammie Kennedy, Associate Professor of English and Women’s and Gender Studies, for a workshop based on the recent publication of ‘Rhetorics of Whiteness: Postracial Hauntings in Popular Culture, Social Media, and Education.’

The session will present key ideas from the book, Rhetorics of Whiteness, co-edited by Dr. Tammie Kennedy. Dr. Kennedy will help to facilitate and solicit collaborative discussions, focused on taking action against white supremacy, racism, and misogyny and serving as anti-racist allies.

For this Interactive workshop, participants will work as collaborators to create an action plan that can be used in various communities, including reading materials, action groups, specific political actions and timelines, and numerous anti-racist maneuvers that focus on systemic racism, white supremacy, and misogyny.

This workshop is free and open to the Omaha Community. Click here for more information.
