The March Second Circle Teen Movie is “The Truman Show” starring Jim Carrey.
The teens will be joined by Bob Fischbach, Second Unitarian Church member and entertainment reviewer for the Omaha World-Herald. They will continue their viewing and meaningful discussions of movies on Sunday, March 23 (a week later than usual) at 4:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.
The viewing and discussion will explore reality shows, whether exploitation of one another is fair, and other topics piqued by the movie.
A free-will donation will be taken for pizza.
Movie synopsis: He’s the star of the show–but he doesn’t know. Truman Burbank is a man whose life is a nonstop TV show. Truman doesn’t realize that his quaint hometown is a giant studio set run by a visionary producer/director/creator, that folks living and working there are Hollywood actors, that even his incessantly bubbly wife is a contract player. Gradually, Truman gets wise and what he does about his discovery will have you laughing, crying and cheering.
The Second Circle Teen Movie selection for April is “In and Out” which presents issues of coming out as gay.
