Heartland Pride Parade & Festival

Please join us for the annual Heartland Gay Pride Parade and Festival, taking place June 26-28.

The theme this year is “Free to be ME!” Through our involvement, we affirm our support for LGBTQ individuals to be fully themselves, as well as our commitment to work for equal rights for all.

We’ll be joined by First Unitarian Church in both the parade and the festival. The following events will take place during the weekend:

  • Thursday, June 26 – 8 pm Candlelight vigil and 9 pm screening of the movie “Milk” at Hanafan Park in Council Bluffs.
  • Friday, June 27 – 6 pm Youth Pride festival and evening dance at Hanafan Park in Council Bluffs.
  • Saturday, June 28 –
  • 10 am – Pride Parade in Council Bluffs, beginning at the intersection of 9th Avenue and South Main Street. Those interested are invited to meet at 8:30 am at Stinson Park in Omaha’s Aksarben Village to carpool.
  • 11 am – Pride Festival and Entertainment begins at Stinson Park in Omaha’s Aksarben Village. Please visit or help staff our booth at the Festival. Set-up begins at 10:30 am, and our booth will be open until 4:30 pm.
