Share the Plate May & June 2026 Black Votes Matter Institute’s 9th Annual Civil Rights Tour

The Black Votes Matter Institute of Community Engagementinforms, educates, and inspires the next generation of leaders through a highly interactive and engaged BVM Bus Tour to Tulsa, Memphis, Jackson, Birmingham, Selma, Montgomery, Tuskegee, and Atlanta. Donations contribute to scholarships for youth to attend. While focused on creating the next generation of youth for sustained change, the BVM Institute also conducts year around voter education, registration, and Get Out the Vote initiatives while raising the quality of life for all with an emphasis on the economically disadvantaged, diverse, and multi-ethnic populations.

The tour was started by activist and founder of North Omaha’s Black Votes Matter Institute of Community Engagement, Preston Love Jr., after finding the need for more civic education among Omaha’s youth. Second Unitarian has supported the tour since 2018. Click here for details about the 2026 BVM Youth Tour June 20 – 28. There is also an accompanying Adult Learning Tour. Click herefor details.
