Litha, also known as Midsummer, occurs on June 21st which is the peak of the sun’s power and warmth.
Celtic legend describes this change of season as a battle between light and dark. In this battle, the Oak King (who represents daylight-who rules from Yule until Litha) and the Holly King (who represents Litha-who rules from Litha to Yule) battle for control.
Join us on June 23rd at 6:00 pm at 2nd Unitarian to celebrate Litha – the beginning of Summer. You are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for a more comfortable experience outdoors. Indoor activity planned.
