Do you want to walk in the Pride Parade?

We are looking forward to the Annual Heartland Pride Parade & Festival on Saturday, July 18th. Second Unitarian Church invites you to join in the fun!

Here are some things to know:

  • Parade starts at NEW TIME 9:30 in downtown Omaha. If you are planning to attend the parade, please let Cindy Ramsey know, just so we have an idea of who to expect. It is not a requirement.
  • Our 2U staging site: We finally have our Rally Point! 16th and Cass St. The specific lineup order is still to be determined. Our group will be lining up alongside First Unitarian and YRUU. On the morning of the parade, volunteers in Jeep vehicles will be stationed at each intersection along 16th Street. If you need help finding our spot, don’t hesitate to ask someone in a Jeep!
  • Parade Route: Click here
  • Getting there:

Carpool: Meet at the church at 8:00 a.m.

ORBT: ORBT buses leave every 20 minutes from the Westroads Mall transit center (northwest corner of the parking lot). Buy your ticket at the transit center’s kiosk. Recommend catching the 8:30 bus. Get off at 16th & Douglas. Walk up 17th St. to our staging site. TBD

Drive: Park at CHI parking lot off Cuming/10th St.

  • What to bring: Bring sunscreen, water/water bottle and sunglasses. We will have Pride handouts.
  • Show your unity: Wear your yellow “Side with Love” t-shirt. Accessories (crazy hats, rainbow umbrellas, boas, etc.) add to the festive atmosphere. If you missed getting a shirt, don’t let that stop you from joining us!
