Every month Second Unitarian donates one half of our offering to a local non-profit organization. For March and April we are supporting the Black Votes Matter Institute of Community Engagement – Annual Civil Rights Tour.
The Black Votes Matter Institute of Community Engagement informs, educates, and inspires the next generation of leaders through a highly interactive and engaged BVM bus tour to Memphis, Jackson, Birmingham, Selma, Montgomery, Tuskegee, and Atlanta. This year’s Tour will add Black Wall Street in Tulsa and will provide a few seats for adults.
Donations contribute to scholarships for youth to attend. While focused on creating the next generation of youth for sustained change, BVM also conducts year around voter education, registration, and Get Out the Vote initiatives while raising the quality of life for all with an emphasis on the economically disadvantaged, diverse, and multi-ethnic populations.
