I’ve Seen Fire and I’ve Seen Rain: 2U Water Ceremony 2021

It’s sure been a remarkable year for our country — fire on the West Coast, floods in the South and Northeast, dire reminders of climate change. There was fire and destruction at this time 20 years ago, on 9/11. Yet through it all, those in the Jewish tradition annually at around this time, often gather near water —  a stream, a pond — as part of celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the New Year. As we gather virtually in our 2U community on this morning, we will enjoy snippets of our UU Water Ceremonies in the past and a hint of those in the present and future.
