November Share the Plate: No More Deaths

No More Deaths logo

Every week Second Unitarian donates one half of our offering to a local non-profit organization. This month’s Share the Plate recipient is No More Deaths/No Más Muertes, a ministry of the UU Church of Tucson, AZ. NMD/NMM is an all-volunteer organization that provides humanitarian aid to migrants in the southern deserts of Arizona: water, food, clothing and medical supplies. They also provide relief to migrants in physical distress and perform search-and-rescue operations for migrants whose families report them as lost.

NMD/NMM volunteers took Reverend Cyndi Simpson and about 60 other UU/Interfaith clergy and laypeople to leave water in the desert, in resistance to the current Administration’s criminalizing of humanitarian aid. NMD/NMM receives a small amount of funding from the UU Church of Tucson and must raise all the rest for their operations. They save lives every single day in so many ways! Your money will go directly to providing humanitarian aid to migrants in southern Arizona.
